With the reckless spirit of punk combined with a disco groove, this piece of avant-garde musical theatre is an existential fairytale about human insects on a spiritual quest.

Directed by Paulina Lenoir and choreographed by Patricia Langa, this show is a feminist search for mind-blowing sex without emotional ties, questioning the social norms around relationships, embracing the surreal while acknowledging the fundamental human need for love. A show for all the sex-positive people of today who follow their own desires, f*ck the patriarchy, and look for their own ecstasy.

The critically-acclaimed band Chewy She is on stage throughout, and the barriers between audience and performer are broken down by the expert manipulations of the Queen Moth herself. Able assistance comes from her rampant, uninhibited dancers, and the philosophical questionings from the Formless Form - a voice from beyond.

The show is brought together by a team of female, queer, and queer-friendly creatives, giving a platform to supreme musicianship, physical theatre, deliberately awkward comedy, and innovative visuals. The result is a show which will titillate even the most impenetrable soul - to laugh, to dance, to question, to share, and perhaps even be a little aroused.

CHEWY SHE MOTH POPERA

The Moth Popera is a mind-blowing show. There is definitely a correlation between CHEWY SHE and what David Bowie was up to in its early days. By being an artist that keeps pushing herself, exploring, testing, and learning different forms of art.

weird and wonderful

To me, it’s more of a performance art piece with banging tunes mixed in.
